BosforTour’s dinner cruise boards at Cibali Pier on the Golden Horn — Kadir Has Cd., Fatih, on the old-city shore beside Kadir Has University. The T5 tram stops at Cibali, a short walk away and two stops from Eminönü; doors open at 20:00 and the boat leaves at 21:00.
Most Bosphorus dinner cruises board at Kabataş or at Eminönü, and so most of the advice online about “the dinner cruise pier” sends people to one of those two. This one does not leave from either. It boards on the Golden Horn, at Cibali, and the single most common mistake guests make is going confidently to the wrong waterfront. So before anything else: the pier is Cibali.
Cibali is on the southern shore of the Golden Horn, the inlet that divides old Istanbul from Beyoğlu, a little way upstream from the Galata and Atatürk bridges. The landmark to look for is Kadir Has University: the long brick building on the water, which the pier sits beside. Behind it rises the old city; across the water is the Beyoğlu shore.
It is a quieter place to board than the big piers on the Bosphorus itself, and it gives the evening a better beginning. The boat leaves at 21:00 and slips out of the Golden Horn under the Galata Bridge, with the old city on one side and the Galata Tower on the other, before it turns up the Bosphorus.
The exact map pin is sent on WhatsApp with your booking confirmation, so the last few hundred metres are on your phone.
The simplest route for most visitors. The T5 tram runs along the Golden Horn from Eminönü, and its Cibali stop is a short walk from the pier — two stops from Eminönü. You pay with an İstanbulkart, the city’s transport card, which works on every tram, metro and ferry; how to get one is in our guide to Istanbul transport.
To reach the T5 from where most visitors stay:
| From | How |
|---|---|
| Sultanahmet | T1 tram to Eminönü, then change to the T5 for two stops to Cibali |
| Sirkeci | T1 tram one stop to Eminönü, then the T5 to Cibali |
| Karaköy | T1 tram across the Galata Bridge to Eminönü, then the T5 to Cibali |
| Taksim | M2 metro to Haliç station, then a 10–12 minute walk along the shore |
| The Asian side | Ferry to Eminönü, then the T5 two stops to Cibali |
From Taksim, Şişli or anywhere else on the M2 line, ride to Haliç station, the one that sits on the metro bridge over the Golden Horn. From there it is a walk of about 10–12 minutes along the shore to the pier. It is a pleasant walk at that hour, with the water beside you, and it avoids changing trams.
Ask for “Cibali, Kadir Has Üniversitesi”. The university is a well-known landmark and the pier is on the water beside the campus, so it is the clearest instruction you can give. Asking for “the Bosphorus cruise” is not: there are dozens, and most of them leave from somewhere else. If you are using a ride app, put in the university and walk the last minute to the water.
If you would rather not navigate at all, the hotel transfer collects you from your hotel, brings you to the pier and takes you back after the cruise, for +€5 per person (free for children up to 3). It serves fourteen central districts, including Sultanahmet, Sirkeci, Eminönü, Laleli, Beyoğlu, Taksim and Beşiktaş, and for the same evening it has to be booked before 18:30. The full list is on the hotel transfer.
Doors open at 20:00 and the boat casts off at 21:00 sharp. Arriving by about 20:30 gives you time to choose a table — they are not assigned in advance, so the window seats go to whoever is aboard first — and to see the last of the light on the Golden Horn. The return is between 23:45 and midnight, at the same pier, so plan the way back from Cibali rather than from wherever you started. More on arriving and choosing a table.
Eminönü appears in these directions only as the place to change trams, and Kabataş not at all. If you realise you are at the wrong pier, take a taxi to Cibali straight away and send us a message on WhatsApp.
Everything else about the evening — the menu, the show, the boat — is on the main page.
