Is alcohol included, and how does the drinks package work?

Water, cola, juice and tea are part of the €24.60 for every guest, from the youngest child to the adult who does not drink. There is no limit in the plain sense: they are poured all evening, without an allowance or a count. For a large share of guests — families, anyone driving tomorrow, anyone who simply does not drink — that is the whole drinks question answered.

Two kinds of drink sit outside it and are paid for at the bar, at the bar’s own prices:

• Imported drinks — whisky, tequila, champagne and the like.
• Cocktails.

That is the full list of exceptions. If what you want is beer, wine, rakı, vodka or gin, the package covers it all night.

It depends on how you drink, and the arithmetic is short. Over a three-hour evening with dinner, a guest who would order a couple of glasses of wine or a few beers at the bar will usually find the package the simpler choice, and it removes the question of keeping count. A guest who wants one glass with dinner, or drinks only whisky or cocktails, may not need it at all.

What it does not do is change the evening for the people who skip it. They have the same dinner, the same show and the same unlimited soft drinks as everyone else at the table.
